The Foundational Course is open to all professionals working in food allergy.

What do the weekly topics & lessons consist of?

Each course consists of 8 weeks of online lessons, one unique topic each week with a pre and post test.

The following are required to complete a weekly module:

  1. Read the recommended readings. Afterwards, mark this lesson as Complete using the button provided.
  2. Attend and participate in the weekly Zoom session.  These are delivered live each week at 6:00pm CST. (Part of Session 6 may be pre-recorded.) Afterwards, mark this lesson as Complete using the button provided.

Once all sections of a topic have been completed, and you receive a score of at least 75% on the post-test, you will able to download your certificate from your Dashboard.

Is the pre-test scored?

The pre-test is scored and results are delivered to the Course Administrator.  The pre-test score does not count towards your overall qualification of receiving the final certificate.  That depends on the completion of the weekly lessons and final post-test results.

You have 20 minutes to answer 20 questions.

When is the final post-test available and what score is required to pass the course?

The post-test will be available approximately one week after the last session of the Spring 2024 Foundational Course. The post-test will be open for one week only. A minimum of 75% is required to pass the Foundational Course.

What is the time commitment per week?

Learners are required to attend and participate in each of the 8 – one hour sessions. In addition, learners must read assigned pre-readings, which may take up to 10-15 hours per week.

Since this is an interactive online course, what time of day is the course offered for my location?

The live sessions are held on eight consecutive Wednesdays, starting Wednesday 3 April. Each session will start promptly at 18:00 CT, and run approximately one hour in length.

I completed the FARE paediatric allergy course last year. Is this the same?

The CFAE Foundational Course is not the same as the FARE course; however, there may be a few topics that feel similar. When developing the CFAE Foundational Course, we aimed to make is distinct from the FARE course as much as possible.
